✔ High Satiety ✔ Natural ✔ No sugar/sweeteners
This is not an energy ball. This is a chocolate substitute:
- 4 ingredients
- Can barely taste the dates
- Not so sweet
- High satiety – makes you very full which prevents over-eating
- Easy to make -5 mins.
Despite using natural whole ingredients, I would not consider this healthy; which means eat in moderation.
That being said, I do believe eating 3 of these chocolate date balls is healthier than grabbing a bar of chocolate, as this is:
- way less processed
- makes you feel full quickly
- not addictive
Try it out yourself!
4 INGREDIENTS:
(makes 6 x 17g balls, 2 – 3 servings)
- 60g walnut halves or crumbs
- 25g pitted Medjool dates
- 3 tsp dutch-processed cocoa powder
- Dried unsweetened shredded coconut
METHOD:
1. Add walnut halves into a small food processor. Blend until coarse and slightly wet (due to the release of natural oils).
2. Add pitted Medjool dates. Blend until sticky.
3. Add cocoa powder. Blend.
4. Transfer this grainy paste to a plate.
5. Divide the paste into 6 equal pieces, roughly 15-16g per piece.
6. Roll each piece into a ball.
6. Press each ball gently into shredded coconut until it sticks and coats each ball.
7. Store these chocolate balls in a sealed container or jar.
8. Keep refrigerated. Consume within 3 days.
Freezing Instructions: Wrap individual balls with cling wrap tightly. Place wrapped chocolate balls in zip lock bag.
Defrosting Instructions: Place wrapped frozen chocolate balls in fridge the night before.
